Maris Kunickis joins Ukrnafta’s Management Board

Maris Kunickis has started work as a member of the Management Board of Ukrnafta JSC, according to a post on his personal LinkedIn page, ExPro reports.

Before this appointment, Kunickis had been working at Ukrnafta as Director for ESG and Power Generation since July 2025.

Maris Kunickis is an energy executive with many years of experience in the energy sector in European and Ukrainian companies. Before joining Ukrnafta, he worked in Lithuania.

From 2020 to 2022, Kunickis served as CEO of DTEK Renewables. Before joining DTEK in 2018, he was a member of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer of Latvenergo (Latvia), as well as Deputy Board Member of the European electricity industry association EURELECTRIC, Vice President and Board Member of the Latvian Association of Power Engineers and Energy Constructors.

As reported by ExPro, Bogdan Kukura was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrnafta, replacing Yurii Tkachuk.
