Kyiv Metro in 6 months has increased the costs of electricity purchase by 12.7%, to UAH 230 mil
Kyiv Metro MC in 6 months of 2018 as compared to the same period of 2017 has increased the costs of electricity purchase by 12.7%, to UAH 230 mil. This was stated in response to a request of Expro Electricity by the press-service of the enterprise.
The share of electricity costs in the company’s prime cost in 2017 was 19%. The Metropolitan buys electricity from DTEK Kyiv Power Networks PJSC at a tariff determined by the NEURC, as for consumers of the second voltage class (up to 27.5 kV). For the 3rd quarter of 2018 the tariff rate is set at the level of 228.754 kop/KWh. During 6 months of 2018 Metropolitan transported 247.6 mil passengers, while in the first half of 2017 – 245.9 mil people.
Commenting on the reasons for raising of the cost of travel, the press service noted that “the need to revise the cost of travel is associated with, among other, with increased electricity costs.
