In July 2025, Ukraine increased electricity exports by 16%

In July 2025, Ukraine increased electricity exports by 16%, compared to June 2025, to 282.2 thousand MWh. This is stated in the preliminary monitoring data of ExPro Electricity.

Electricity supplies to Moldova increased sharply, in terms of daily exports in this direction took place almost at all hours. In general, more than 115 thousand MWh of electricity were exported to Moldova in July, which is 41% of the total volume.

However, exports decreased in all other directions, the largest decrease was in deliveries to Slovakia, by 24%.

In July last year, there were no electricity exports. In terms of volumes, Ukraine remains a net exporter, however, according to ExPro, total import costs are significantly higher than export revenues.

Imports of electricity in July 2025 increased by 24.7% compared to the previous month, to 257.7 thousand MWh. Supplies from Moldova decreased by 55%, and from Poland by almost 1%. Imports from other directions increased.

The largest share in the import structure continues to be occupied by Hungary, almost 41%. Compared to July 2024, imports have decreased threefold this year.
