DTEK plans to complete its first wind farm in Europe by the end of the year

DTEK plans to complete the construction of the Ruginoasa wind farm - the first project of DTEK Renewables in Europe - by the end of the year. Also, the company has ambitious plans for the next few years.

This was announced by DTEK General Director Maksym Timchenko during a press conference on October 11.

"The capacity of the wind power plant is 60 MW, the solar power plant is 50 MW. In general, we have big plans for Europe, regarding the development of RES," Timchenko points out. As the general director of DTEK pointed out, 1,500 MW in four countries are under active development. "By 2030, we are measuring the volumes of RES construction in thousands of MW," he emphasized.

Also, according to him, DTEK is currently considering projects for wind power plants and energy storage systems in Poland. Сonstruction began in March 2023 and the first of 10 Vestas V162-6.0MW turbines was installed in July.

Also, a new dedicated substation is also being built, which will connect the project to the existing 110 kV Vatra - Targu Frumos overhead line operated by Delgaz Grid. The project is financed by DTEK Renewables International together with a project financing facility provided by Kommunalkredit Austria AG. The Ruginoasa project will be one of the first wind farms to be built in Romania after the end of the state support program.
