Artem Nekrasov has been appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Energy

On August 1, 2025, the government appointed Artem Nekrasov as Ukraine's First Deputy Minister of Energy. Before that, he led the State Enterprise "Guaranteed Buyer," which, among other roles, is a key part of supporting renewable energy in Ukraine.

Representatives of the renewable energy sector, interviewed by ExPro, view Artem Nekrasov's appointment as the First Deputy Minister of Energy positively and have optimistic expectations for the government's renewable energy policies.

Nekrasov's extensive experience in the renewable power industry will help address the issue of debt to renewable energy producers under the feed-in tariff and support the overall growth of alternative energy sources.

Also, on the same day, Olga Yukhymchuk was appointed as a Deputy Minister of Energy responsible for European Integration. Since October 2024, Yukhymchuk has served as Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European Integration.

Before that, Olga Yukhymchuk worked in the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine within the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Earlier, Grynchuk dismissed two deputies from the team of former Minister German Galushchenko.

These changes show that the new Minister of Energy, Svitlana Grinchuk, is building her own team to pursue her priorities, including boosting renewable energy and decentralizing the power system.
