Naftogaz of Ukraine has finished performing the function of the "last hope" supplier on the gas market

Naftogaz of Ukraine Gas Supply Company LLC, which in accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 22, 2020 No. 917-r, is designated as a supplier of "last hope", informs about the expiration of its functions and duties as a supplier of "last hope" from July 22, 2023.

Naftogaz notes that in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "About Natural Gas Market" it is established that the supplier of "last hope" is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for a period of three years based on the results of the competition.

In view of the expiration of the statutory period, starting from July 23, 2023, Naftogaz of Ukraine LLC will lack the grounds and technical ability to provide consumers of the "last hope" supplier with the necessary volumes of natural gas in the entire balancing zone.

"During the last three years, the Company as a supplier of "last hope" has supplied gas to more than 9 million households, as well as almost 8,000 non-domestic consumers, including, in particular: heating and communal energy enterprises, as well as those that perform vital functions to ensure defense capability and food security," Naftogaz notes.
