ZNPP provided ancillary services to the FRR for the first time

On August 10, 2021, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) participated for the first time in an auction for the purchase of ancillary services as frequency restoration reserve, according to data published on the NEC Ukrenergo’s website.

According to the NEC Ukrenergo, the auction on the ancillary services on August 10, 2021, nominated the provision of FRR on August 10, 2021.

The NEC Ukrenergo purchased ancillary services from ZNPP on August 9, 2021, for a total of 15 MW (marginal price was at UAH 1078.54 UAH/MWh).

ExPro Reference: the frequency restoration process is to keep the frequency and reduce frequency deviations from the nominal value, regardless of the cause and location of the imbalance in the synchronous zone, by activating the frequency support reserves.

The FRR should be activated 0.1-1 seconds after the frequency deviates from the nominal by ± 0.02 Hz and more. As previously reported by ExPro, on July 15, 2021, the NEC Ukrenergo certified Unit №1 of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant of the NNEGC Energoatom to enter the market of ancillary services, in terms of providing frequency restoration reserves of ± 20 MW.

ODESA OFFSHORE CONFERENCE-2019 Ukraine has every chance to resume the work of the most promising oil and gas region, the Southern oil&gas fields. The untapped deposits of oil and gas are located both onshore and subsea. Four companies have already poised to conclude Production Sharing Agreements with Ukraine, whilst bidding for the Dolphin oil&gas fields on Black Sea shelf. The Odesa Offshore Conference (OOC2019) will serve as a venue for Ukrainian and international bidders to meet with local and international drilling, oilfield service and equipment manufacturers to kick-off emerging subsea and onshore projects in Ukraine.
