Ukrtransgaz lacks technological gas for their GTS operations over June-August of 2019
None of the 12 procurement tenders thresholded for UAH 5.72 billion (excluding VAT) and initiated by JSC Ukrtransgaz to buy 880 million cubic meters of technological gas for operational needs of the nation’s GTS pipelines over July to December 2019 did not take place due to the absence of bid proposals. This was reported on the nation’s GTS operator’s official website.
The most probable cause of the situation includes untimely payments from counter-agents under the ongoing contracts for technological gas procurement, that, in turn, entailed indebtedness [https://expro.com.ua/novini/ukrtransgaz-ne-ma-mojlivost-vchasno-rozrahovuvatisya-za-gaz-dlya-vtv], which has already amounted to UAH 4,1 billion.
At present, the share of the technological gas in the Ukrainian underground gas storages of the national GTS Operator is 152 million cubic meters, while a monthly need of technological gas averages to about 240 million cubic meters. The estimated need for technological gas for the GTS pipelines operations in June-August is about 720 million cubic meters.
The State Service of Ukraine for Emergencies on June 20 classified the level of impact in case of of disruption in the operation of the technological equipment of the main pipelines of the GTS as a "nationwide extraordinary technogenic threat".
