Ukrhydroenergo plans to increase electricity production by 25% in 2021

In 2021, the PJSC Ukrhydroenergo plans to generate about 8.25 billion kWh of electricity, which will be 25% more than in 2020 (6.6 billion kWh), as announced on March 31, 2021, by Igor Syrota, General Director of the PJSC Ukrhydroenergo.

"We do not expect a situation that would be unpredictable for us, because the reservoirs are prepared to collect water to come in April-May 2021. All stations after the inspection by the State Energy Inspectorate have readiness certificates, hydropower structures and all equipment are in a reliable condition. We have formed headquarters and working groups to address and pass seasonal floods," said Sirota.

The PJSC Ukrhydroenergo operates all large hydropower plants located on the Ukrainian sections of the Dnieper and Dniester rivers. The total installed electricity generating capacity of the company’s hydropower plants is 5744.8 MW.
