Ukrenergo Owes Guaranteed Buyer 10.9 Billion Hryvnyas as of April 30
TSO NEC Ukrenergo is indebted to SE Guaranteed Buyer 10.9 billion hryvnyas as of April 30, 2020, according to the state enterprise’s information.
“As of April 30 the debt of PrJSC Ukenergo to State Enterprise Guaranteed Buyer constitutes 10.9 billion hryvnyas, including 9.7 billion hryvnyas for the service of increasing renewables share in power generation and 1.2 billion hryvnyas for electricity sold in the balancing market,” the statement said.
The state enterprise gave more details about the main part of the debt. The outstanding liabilities of 9.7 billion hryvnyas include
- 0.4 billion hryvnyas for the service provided in January 2020,
- 2.6 billion hryvnyas for February,
- 3.1 billion hryvnyas for March
- and 3.6 billion hryvnyas for 20 days in April.
Guaranteed Buyer emphasized that Ukrenergo had made no payments for the services provided in March and April. The fact that Ukrenego doesn’t meet liabilities makes unable the full and timely settlements to renewable energy producers.
ExPro Reference: According to the Public Services Obligations mechanism in the Ukrainian electricity market, SE Guaranteed Buyer must buy out all the electricity produced under the green tariffs. The state enterprise gets the funds to meet the PSO from two sources. The larger one is the payments from Ukrenergo and the smaller source is Guaranteed Buyer’s profit from trading in the day-ahead market. According to the TSO Ukrenergo, the payments for green power take the biggest part within the transmission tariff.
