Ukrainian banks suspend financing of RES projects due to non-compliance with the Memorandum - UWEA

Ukrainian banks are suspending financing for renewable energy projects until clear situation in the electricity market, namely the problem of government’s debts to the "green" generation and the possible imposition of excise on RES electricity.

This was announced on June 9, 2021, by Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA).

"We appealed to four banks - Oschadbank, Ukreximbank, Ukrgasbank, Privat, and all of them said that they would stop financing until the situation on the RES electricity market is resolved," Konechenkov said. According to Konechenkov, every international organization today monitors the situation with "green" energy in Ukraine.
