Ukraine started to import electricity from Belarus on commercial basis
Ukrainian companies have started supplies of electricity on commercial basis form Belarus into Ukrainian domestic market since July 10. Press-service of national TSO Ukrenergo informed about it on July 17, 2019.
«The import transactions of electricity from Belarus have been started since July 10, up to now they have reached 6.8 million kWh. It is the import transactions that paving the way for the real competition in domestic electricity market”, - reported the press-service.
According to the sources familiar with the market situation, D.Trading and ERU Trading are planning to import electricity form Belarus during July.
As reported by Ukrenergo press-service, the maximal volume which can be imported from Belarus to Integrated Power System of Ukraine is 7.3 billion kWh a year.
As ExPro reported, the import of electricity into Ukraine on commercial basis appeared only after the new market design had been launched at the beginning of July. The first import transactions were carried out by ERU Trading on July 1, 2019. A few days later D.Trading which is part of energy holding DTEK announced about its similar plans.
