Ukraine increased generation in January by 3,6% to 15,7 billion kWh, consumption – by 1,5%

Power plans of Ukraine increased electricity generation by 3,55% to 15,705 billion kWh in January, 2019 in comparison with January, 2018. At the same time, electricity consumption taking into account the losses in the grids was up by 1,51% to 14,9 billion kWh. The data is published by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the state enterprise Energorynok.

According to the Ministry’s data, the generation exceeded the plan indicator by 0,5%. 51% of total electricity was produced by NPPs, 42% - ThPPs, 5% - HPPs and 2% - other sources.

In accordance with Energorynok’s data, the highest rate of consumption took place on January, 23 (510 million kWh) and the lowest one was on January, 1 (416 million kWh).

Earlier ExPro reported that Ukraine increased the power generation by 2,5% to 159,35 billion kWh in 2018 compared to 2017, the consumption rose by 2,3% to 153,21 billion kWh.
