UGV commissioned a new, highly productive well in the Kharkiv region
UGV has commissioned a new exploration well on the Shoseyna area in the Kharkiv region, which produces 200 thousand cubic meters (tcm) of gas per day.
The Shoseyna area is a promising area with resources of more than 3 bcm of gas; its exploration continues. The new well once again confirmed the high potential of the area. Now it is planned to transfer it from the greenfield to the brownfield status.
"Increasing resources from new areas is our priority. Shoseyna area is one of the top 10 most promising greenfields in our portfolio, which we pay special attention to. We have assigned a multi-functional team to each of these areas and evolve modern field research. This approach will allow us to increase resources by up to 40 billion cubic meters m of gas in these areas," said Sanzhar Zharkeshov, deputy director of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production division for field exploration and development.
The new well in the Shoseyna area has a depth of 4 150 m. To increase the indicators, Naftogaz specialists performed a hydraulic fracturing operation, after which the flow rate reached more than 200 tcm of gas per day.
Since 2014, when the company received a license for the Shoseyna area, ten wells have already been drilled in it, from which 253 mcm of gas have been produced. It borders the Zakhidno-Sosnivske field, the prospects of which have already been proven earlier
