The NEURC supports the REMIT bill authored by Gerus

The National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission (NEURC) supports the bill (5322, which proposes the introduction of the model of the Regulation of Transparency REMIT (Regulation of energy market integrity and transparency) authored by MP Andriy Gerus, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Housing.

That was announced on May 31, 2021, by Olha Babii, a Commissioner of the NEURC, "The Draft Law №l 325322 is more in line with the comprehensive decision on REMIT, which will allow to obtain information quickly, to prevent manipulation in the electricity market," Babii said.

Commissioner Babii also noted that from July 1, 2021, the NEURC will have the authority to record manipulations in the electricity market. According to her, today the biggest difficulty for the implementation of REMIT is the insufficient level of IT support.
