The government will speed up the signing of PSAs

Achieving energy independence is an important priority for the government, as Ukraine has a huge potential for increasing gas production and efficient operation of infrastructure.

This was stated on October 23 by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with members of the Interdepartmental Commission for organizing the conclusion and implementation of production sharing agreements and investors – the winners of competitions of production sharing agreements.

Denys Shmyhal assured investors that the government understands that since they participated in tenders for concluding the agreements on the world market, price trends have changed.

“The government is confident that the Ukrainian energy market remains attractive in the near future and creates sufficient demand for new gas production and geological exploration,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Denys Shmyhal, production sharing agreements are a tool for attracting significant investment in the national oil and gas industry. The Interdepartmental Commission and investors have carried out significant work on their projects.
