Perhaps the IPO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya separately is better than the IPO of the entire Naftogaz - Vitrenko

Chairman of the Management Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC Yuriy Vitrenko, on a business trip participated in U.S. - Ukraine Business Council on June 10, the press service reports.

There, he raised the topic of an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Naftogaz of Ukraine shares, as the parent company of the entire Naftogaz Group. He also noted that this idea has several disadvantages and the alternatives should be considered.

"I'm not sure that the IPO of a conglomerate (Naftogaz) is the best idea. Different assets of the Company may have different rates of preparation for investor attraction. In any case, a decision on the readiness of the entire company for an IPO is an exclusive decision of the government," the Chair of Naftogaz said.

According to Vitrenko, it is possible that the IPO of Ukrgasvydobuvannya separately will be the best option, more understandable for the investor, while the sale of all Naftogaz will be associated with a discount. In addition, the chairman of the Management Board expressed the opinion that, in addition to the IPO, the option of attracting a strategic investor should also be considered.
