Parliament passed in the first reading Draft Law on simplification of connection to power grid

The Parliament of Ukraine voted in the first reading for the Daft Law № 5009 " On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Simplification of Connection to Electric Networks".

With 314 MPS voted in favor, the Daft Law № 5009 was adopted on June 1, 2021.

"This bill is aimed at facilitating and reducing the cost of connections to electricity networks, especially for small and medium-sized businesses. And every enterprise built that has joined the electricity grid is new jobs, taxes to the budget and new customers-consumers for power engineers, ”commented MP Andriy Gerus, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing, and Communal Services.

As previously reported by ExPro, the NEURC called on the Parliament of Ukraine to support the Daft Law № 5009, so that the procedure of land allocation for energy facilities be simplified .
