NEURC plans to increase the upper price caps on day-ahead and intraday market, up to 1500 and 3000 UAH/MWh
The National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission (NEURC) plans to increase the upper limit prices for day-ahead and intraday electricity in the Integrated Power System of Ukraine for 07: 00-23: 00 hourly consumption up to 3000 UAH/MWh, and for 23: 00-07: 00 hourly consumption - up to 1500 UAH/MWh.
The corresponding draft resolution is planned to be considered at the NEURC’s weekly meeting on July 23, 2021.
According to the NEURC, such a decision is planned to be made, taking into account the current surplus electricity market, the need to use coal-fired generation for the evening maximum consumption.
As earlier reported by ExPro, on June 16, 2021, the NEURC raised the maximum marginal prices for day-ahead and intraday electricity traded in the Integrated Power System of Ukraine for daytime hours (07: 00-23: 00) – up to 2655, 99 UAH/MWh, and for nighttime hours (23: 00-07: 00) - up to 1243.71 UAH/MWh. The new marginal prices came into force on June 18, 2021.
