NEURC: Manipulation in electricity market is trade in unconfirmed volumes

“The manipulation in the electricity market, in contrast to a legitimate trade transaction, is the sale nomination of electricity, the production of which is not confirmed; The system operator NEC Ukrenergo monitors all trade agreements and the origin of the volumes that are put up for sale, “ as announced during a briefing on June 3, 2021 by Olha Babii, a Commissioner of the National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission (NEURC).

"In the understanding of the NEURC, manipulation is when a market participant nominates a particular market segment with a volume that is not confirmed by its readiness to produce," she said. Commissioner Babii also noted that the NEC Ukrenergo would hold the right to monitor transactions in all market segments.
