NEURC forecasts an increase in the cost of electricity produced from RES in 2021 by 24% - up to 51 billion UAH

The National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission (NEURC) forecasts an increase in the cost of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in 2021, compared to 2020, by 24% - up to UAH 51.259 billion, as was commented by the NEURC to ExPro’s query.

The NEURC forecasts in 2021 an increase in the total installed capacity of RES generation in Ukraine up to 9.2 000 MW, which will be by 19% more than in 2020.

The NEURC forecasts the largest growth for 2020-2021 for wind power plants (WPP), by 60%, or up to 2093 MW. In general, the projected total volumes of 11.986 billion kWh supply from RES in 2021 are 17% higher than in 2020.

In 2021, the cost of electricity produced from RES will be more than UAH 51 billion, which is by 24% more than in 2020, and twice as much as in 2019.
