Naftogaz received permits to drill 11 wells that were blocked due to quarantine
Ukrgasvydobuvannya (UGV), a member of the Naftogaz group, received permits to drill 11 new wells that were blocked 4 months ago due to the lack of conclusions on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and those in turn were not provided due to quarantine restrictions. This is reported by the press service of Naftogaz.
According to the report, Naftogaz has already started work on the construction of the first of 11 wells No. 62 at the Komyshnyanske field. However, according to preliminary estimates of Naftogaz, after 4 months of downtime, the company may not receive up to 200 million cubic meters of gas in 2020-2021. Accordingly, the budget will not receive taxes from the potential sale of this gas.
Recall that in February-March 2020, Ukrgasvydobuvannya prepared all the necessary documents within the framework of the initiated EIA procedures and submitted them for consideration by the authorized bodies. But given the situation caused by the coronavirus, as well as the imperfection of the current legislation in the field of EIA, UGV was forced to re-submit announcements about the start of public discussions, which led to an increase in the time frame for postponing the start of work for 4 months.
