Naftogaz produced more than 10.1 bcm of commercial gas in 9 months of 2020
NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine keeps gas production at the level of last year, despite the crisis conditions, according to the Naftogaz Exploration and Production division.
According to the results of 9 months of 2020, commercial gas production, which is supplied to end-users and heat producers, remains stable and amounts to 10.135 bcm of gas. The deviation from the equivalent indicators of last year is minus 0.5% or 47.8 mcm.
Naftogaz has maintained its hydrocarbon production figures for the 3rd consecutive quarter, while key fields are depleted by more than 75%. Also, the crisis on the market was aggravated by the following external factors:
- low gas prices, which significantly reduce opportunities for investment in production activities;
- 4-month blocking of drilling of 11 wells due to lack of official approvals from the state;
- delayed delivery of equipment and materials due to quarantine restrictions;
- complex and lengthy procedures for attracting counterparties under the Law on public procurement.
