Naftogaz plans to receive 3 bcm of prospective gas reserves at one of the top-10 greenfields - Shoseyna area
Naftogaz Group, in the person of the Exploration and Production Division, plans to receive an additional 3 bcm of prospective gas reserves on the Shoseyna area, the Division's press service reports.
This impact is predicted by the Company based on the results of two new exploration wells' drilling. Currently, drilling has already been completed, and reserves estimation is on-going under the International SPE-PRMS system. Shoseyna area is a new greenfield, one of the top prospects The area is located in the Kharkiv region and borders the Zakhidno-Sosnivske field. In 2017, 3D seismic was acquired on the Shoseyna area and the Zakhidno-Sosnivske field. According to the results of geological exploration, the gas reserves increased from 5 to 10 bcm. Additionally, based on these results, experts decided to continue geological exploration on the Shoseyna area.
Today, 10 wells have already been drilled within the Shoseyna area, from which 253 mcm of gas and over 2 thousand tons of condensate have been produced.
In general, accelerating geological exploration at the Top-10 greenfields, UGV plans to increase its resource base by almost 40 bcm of gas.
