Naftogaz paid to the state budget 95% of profit for 2019
Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC transferred to the state budget of Ukraine dividends for 2019 in the amount of UAH 48.125 billion. This is reported by the press service of Naftogaz.
According to the report, this is a record amount of dividends received by the Ukrainian budget from a state company. It is 2.4 times higher than similar payments of Naftogaz to the state budget for 2018.
Of this amount, Naftogaz transferred UAH 8.5 billion to the budget at the end of 2019 under the order of the government. Then funds from Naftogaz allowed the budget to make the necessary payments, which were under a threat due to the lack of funds, the press service of the group noted.
According to the government’s decision, the dividends amounted to 95% of Naftogaz’s net profit for 2019.
“Naftogaz Group has been the largest source of revenue for the state budget of Ukraine for several years. The current drop in gas prices makes the task of filling the budget more difficult. At the same time, Ukrainian consumers get an advantage by paying less for gas and heating. The reforms that we are currently implementing in Naftogaz are aimed at further value making for the people of Ukraine,” Andriy Kobolyev, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, quoted by the press service, said.
For the first half of this year, Naftogaz paid to the budget UAH 75 billion in dividends and taxes.
