Naftogaz has increased the daily gas flow rate of the Melykhivske field by 125 thousand cubic meters
The Naftogaz Exploration and production division increased the efficiency of the Melykhivske field by completing two new production wells, which provided an increase in daily production by 125 thousand cubic meters of gas. The company reported. Development of Melykhivske field in Kharkiv region started in 1973. Today, its reserves are depleted by 73%.
To compensate for the natural drop in volumes and maintain production, geologists and developers conducted modern 3D seismic surveys, which resulted in the development of a plan for additional in-field drilling of the main gas condensate deposits.
Since 2018, 8 new production wells have been drilled and put into operation, which provide 12% of the field’s production.
The last two wells were put into operation this year, which helped to increase production at the field by 125 thousand cubic meters per day. In particular, well #179 of the Melykhivske field was connected in July 2020, and it is being operated with a daily production of about 65 thousand cubic meters of gas.
According to the report, the success of the project was also supported by the use of modern drilling equipment and the application of new drilling technologies. This made it possible to double the speed of construction of new wells and reach areas under rivers and localities that were previously inaccessible. The plans for the next 2 years for Melykhivske field are to drill 6 more production wells.
