Naftogaz group launches “pilot” project for remote monitoring of wells
In October, the Naftogaz group launches a “pilot” project for remote monitoring of wells. The launch of a new pilot project was announced by the head of the Board of the Naftogaz Group Andriy Kobolyev at a conference on cyber-security.
He said that the “pilot” project will be implemented at 23 wells in cooperation with the American company Honeywell. The cost of the project is unknown.
Note that the second “pilot” project started in December 2018. Ukrgasvydobuvannya has identified Honeywell as the winner of the tender for technical re-equipment of the well monitoring system. The company had to supply monitoring systems for a total amount of UAH 384 million (including VAT), at the rate of $35 thousand per well. The systems should have been installed on 386 wells from the active stock and also on the wells that were in the process of drilling. In total, it was planned to equip 2000 wells. However, the project was frozen by the then head Andriy Favorov, because he considered that the costly project was not feasible.
