Naftogaz changes its approach to field management

Naftogaz Group to increase reserves is implementing transformations in the approach to geology and field development, namely to their management. The concept of "Field Leaders" is used, which will help to reach a new level of field development. This is reported by the press service of the Naftogaz Exploration and Production Division.

So, for every field previously selected according to the indicators of reserves potential, asset teams were created headed by the Field Leader, responsible for all issues of geology and development. Field Leader knows everything that happens at the field, any actions and decisions on surface and subsurface works at the field are performed exactly according to his/her instructions and through him/her. The team consists of four highly qualified specialists in various fields and includes a geologist, reservoir manager, and pertophysicist, and production engineer. A new approach to field management has actually been created, which aims to maximize the use of the field's resource potential. After all, the team's goal is not to perform as many operations as possible, but to perform them efficiently and only in cases where they will bring high results - proven reserves or additional cubic meters of gas.

Another key task of the Field Leaders and asset teams is to move to a conscious and balanced long-term development of the areas. Gas production here and now at any cost is not an option. All measures should be aimed at extending the life of the field and ensuring its long-term operation.

It should be noted that such effective management of field development is performed using 3D modelling, which allows to correctly form and implement development plans, including geological survey, exploration and production drilling, intensification operations, and so on. After that, the asset team commissions it into operation and manages the activities of the regional divisions in gas production departments.

Now the main fields of the company are managed by the Teams and Field Leaders, which are geographically located in Kharkiv. This is done for the convenience of working out on 3D models all the necessary initiatives planned on the fields.

ODESA OFFSHORE CONFERENCE-2019 Ukraine has every chance to resume the work of the most promising oil and gas region, the Southern oil&gas fields. The untapped deposits of oil and gas are located both onshore and subsea. Four companies have already poised to conclude Production Sharing Agreements with Ukraine, whilst bidding for the Dolphin oil&gas fields on Black Sea shelf. The Odesa Offshore Conference (OOC2019) will serve as a venue for Ukrainian and international bidders to meet with local and international drilling, oilfield service and equipment manufacturers to kick-off emerging subsea and onshore projects in Ukraine.
