Ministry of Energy to hold "green" auctions in 2022 and to reconsider quotas for participation in them

The Ministry of Energy plans to hold full-fledged "green" auctions next year, having previously announced a revision of quotas for participation in them for different types of alternative generation.

"The signal from the Ministry of Energy is to hold" green "auctions next year, finally settling this process at the regulatory level. This year, they plan to hold a so-called small-capacity demonstration auction to test the procedure, " said Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Assotiation (UWEA).

At the same time, according to him, the ministry also announced its intention in the coming days to review and present new quotas for participation in auctions for wind farms and BioTPPs.

"More capacity for wind and bioenergy, less - for solar, plus the question of the obligation for SES along with generating capacity to install storage systems," he said.
