Ministry of Energy is considering the potential of wind and bioenergy to increase RES generation

The Ministry of Energy sees a significant untapped potential for wind and bioenergy development to further increase the share of RES in Ukraine's energy balance.

This was stated on April 20, 2021, by Deputy Minister of Energy Yuriy Boyko during the conference "Transition from the "Green" tariff to Market Conditions", organized by the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association.

"The Ministry of Energy sees an opportunity to achieve strategic indicators of the industry's development primarily due to the unrealized potential of wind and bioenergy," he said.

According to the Deputy Minister of Energy Boyko, wind energy has a number of advantages.

"It is wind energy that can play a key role, given the cheaper technology and increased capacity utilization, significant wind potential, land availability, and a more interesting generation profile in terms of energy."
