Ministry of Energy bodes for dispatch restrictions of NPPs in August-October 2021

The Ministry of Energy projects that in August-September 2021 there will be dispatch restrictions on electricity generated by the NNEGC Energoatom, as voiced on February 17, 2021, by Deputy Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko.

"This year there are three problematic months - August, September, and October, during which not all electricity produced by the company will be accepted into the national power system," he said.

To address this issue, Boyko believes that it is necessary to shift the repairs of nuclear power units from autumn-winter to summer times.

According to the Energy Balance Forecast for 2021, the volume of NPP production this year is expected at 75.233 billion kWh.

In August, September, and October 2021, production is projected at 5.985 billion kWh, 5.651 billion kWh, and 6.336 billion kWh, respectively.
