Ivano-Frankivskgas plans to replace 18 km of old gas pipelines in 2019

In 2019, Ivano-Frankivskgas plans to replace 17.5 km of old gas distribution pipelines, most of which have been operated on for more than 40 years and are depreciated, as stated by Ivano-Frankivskgas JSC.

For the replacement of the obsolete gas pipelines in the investment program "Ivano-Frankivsk gas" provided UAH 8.8 million. The heavily depreciated parts of the pipelines are in Ivano-Frankivsk district, Dolinsky district, Kosiv district, and Rogatin district.

"The current methodology for distribution tariff setting by the NKREKP ( National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities), authorizes only one thirds of the actual funds needed for the modernization of the gas transmission system. This means that every year the number of kilometers of gas pipelines that we replace is decreasing, while the technically worn-down sections of pipelines are increasing ", - says technical director of Ivano-Frankivskgas Igor Vysochansky.

All capital overhauls of deteriorated gas distribution pipelines is financed from tariffs, which are the only source of revenues for Ivano-Frankivskgas. To service more than 400 thousand Carpathians with provision of gas in the round-the-clock mode, the company’s specialists carry out daily a complex of works to maintain the gas transportation system. And this is more than 15 thousand km of gas pipelines, out which 10 thousand km pipeline serves the gas distribution in districts.

To ensure accident-free and uninterrupted gas supply, the gas distributors, alongside with due surveys of city gas pipelines, regularly do checks of all connectors of gas pipelines hooked to residential buildings.
