Investors built 4.5 GW of renewable capacities in Ukraine in 2019

Investors into renewable energy projects in Ukraine in 2019 placed €3,7 billion into new capacities in Ukraine and built new power generation plants with a total capacity of 4.5 GW. This was reported by the press service the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine on January 8, 2020.

Since the last year, the total capacity of renewable energy stations has tripled from 2.3 to 6.8 GW.

«Current production capacity of «clean» energy allows us to produce more than 8,4 billion kWh of electricity (about 5.5% of the total production) annually», - the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine reports.

As ExPro reported, according to the Ministry of Energy, the power generation from renewable energy sources in January-November 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 increased 2.1 times and totaled 5,103 billion kWh.
