“Green” tariffs should be reduced - President Zelenskyy

“Green” tariffs should be reduced, as their level in Ukraine is the highest in Europe, but the government should not lose relations and communicate with those investors who have already signed contracts for existing “green” tariffs. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed during a press marathon on October 10.

“I think, it is necessary, we are talking with you about the market, it is necessary that the market should be”, said the President, answering the journalist's questions, whether it is necessary to reduce “green” tariffs.

The head of state emphasize that such “green” tariffs “have nowhere in Europe, we have the highest rates”.

Zelenskyy noted that MPs and government officials are in contact with many Ukrainian and foreign investors who have already concluded contracts for the sale of electricity at current rates of “green” tariffs.

“They sort out we have contracts with many companies. We have signed contracts, and now we say to them, “Let's change the tariff”, so I think we will solve the problem by discussing with all the companies that already have a contract. But we need to find normal tariffs that are market-based”, the president said.

“But the tariffs are very high”, Zelenskyy said.
