Gerus' amendment obliged private generation to sell electricity through energy exchange (UEEx)

MP Andriy Gerus, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, Housing, and Communal Services, submitted amendments to Law № 756 “On Measures to Overcome Crisis Phenomena and Ensure Financial Stability in the Natural Gas Market” to oblige all electricity producers (including private ones), namely, the DTEK Energo, PJSC Donbasenergo to sell electricity under bilateral contracts at auctions through the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX).

The amendments also impose restrictions on day-ahead electricity traders, while setting a maximum of 10% of electricity purchased under bilateral contracts. The corresponding amendments were taken into account on July 14, 2021, while MPs were approving the entire Law № 3508-d.
