For 8 months of 2021, Ukraine increased coal imports by 13.2%, up to 13.06 million tons

In the first 8 months of 2021, Ukraine increased its imports of gas0grade coals and anthracite by 13.2%, compared to the same period last year, up to 13.06 million tons, according to data published by the State Customs Service of Ukraine (SCSU).

According to the SCSU, for 8 months of 2021, coal was imported for $ 1.325 billion, which was by 8.7% more than in the same period of 2020.

The SCSU notes that coal was imported from Russia for $ 816.078 million, from the United States for $ 299.022 million, and from Kazakhstan for $ 145.422 million. The largest share in coal imports was from Russia (61.57%) and from the United States (22.56% ).
