February 2019 natural gas consumption in Ukraine dropped by 17%

In February 2019, natural gas consumption in Ukraine was 3 765 million cubic meters, which was 770 million cubic meters (17%) less than in February 2018. For the first two months of 2019 Ukraine consumed 8.5 billion cubic meters, which is 0.8 billion cubic meters (8.6%) less than in January-February 2018.

The largest drop occurred in the segment of household consumption. In February 2019, they consumed 1,416 million cubic meters of natural gas, that was 408 million cubic meters (22%) less than in February 2018. Last month the Ukrainian CHPs burned 908 million cubic meters for heating purposes, that was 190 million cubic meters (17%) less than in February 2018. Industrial consumption in February 2019  was 1 137 million cubic meters, dropping by 220 million cubic meters (16%) as compared to February 2018.
