Electricity imports into national grid in January 2021 totaled 1.3% of total nationwide consumption
Imports of electricity into the Integrated Power System of Ukraine in January 2021 amounted to 180.6 million kWh, or reaching 1.3% of the total nationwide monthly consumption of electricity, as announced on February 17, 2021, by the system operator NEC Ukrenergo.
The NEC Ukrenergo also noted that the total volume of electricity imported into Ukraine in January 2021 reached 268.3 million kWh, which was by 2.1 times less compared to January 2020.
Noteworthy, 67.3% of the total electricity imports were from Belarus. According to the transmission system operator, the volume of electricity imports from Belarus just in January 2021 surpassed by 18.6% of the electricity imports during the entire 2020.
As reported by ExPro, on January 3, 2021, traders resumed imports of electricity from Belarus into the Integrated Power System of Ukraine.
From the beginning of February 2021, electricity trading companies, for the first time since March 2020, resumed electricity imports from the Russian Federation.
