DTEK Energo plans to reduce coal production by 27%, down to 16 million tons by 2030, while closing 4 coal mining companies by then, as announced by Mikhail Barabash, Director for Coal Mining of the DTEK Energo.

"DTEK plans to close 4 mines by 2030. We already plan to use the resources of two of these mines this year, another - in 2023, and the fourth - in 2025, "- said Barabash.

Also, DTEK Energo noted that the company implements digital projects on safety at mines, in particular, the creation of models for the management of the mine's ventilation network and degassing processes, as well as the introduction of real-time production monitoring systems and exclusion of the human errors factor in mining operations.

As previously reported, the DTEK Energo plans to complete the operation of the Blagodatna and Stashkova mines in 2021 due to the completion of the development of reserves suitable for efficient coal mining, and the Stepanov and Yuvileyna mines in 2023-2025.
