DTEK Energo has mined 9.8 million tons of coal in January-July 2021

During January-July 2021, the DTEK Energo mined 9.8 million tons of gas coal; the production plan for the whole of 2021 is 17 million tons, the company's press center said on August 10, 2021.

In January-July 2021, there were 17 new longwalls were put into operation at DTEK Energo's mines and almost 9.8 million tons of G-grade coal were mined.

To ensure stable and continuous production, more than 51 km of new longwalls have been prepared,” the statement reads. According to the report, in July 2021, the company extracted 1.4 million tons and prepared 7.2 km of new longwalls for mining.

On some days in July 2921, up to 28 DTEK Energo TPPs operated simultaneously in the power system. In July 2021, the company almost doubled its average daily electricity output compared to June 2021. The DTEK Energo TPP generated 2.3 billion kWh of electricity at the lowest tariff, for which more than 1.2 million tons of coal were used. At the same time, the price of electricity did not even cover the cost of the coal mined.

The DTEK Energo is also actively working on the possibility of providing additional generation needs with coal imports.
