Cost of capital for RES projects in Ukraine grew from 7% to 10% in 2 years - Emergy

The cost of capital for projects in renewable energy sources (RES) in Ukraine increased from 7% up to 10% in 2 years due to the risks of the unpredictability of government actions in the RES sector.

This was announced by Magnus Johansson, Vice President for Development of the Norwegian company Emergy in Ukraine, during a press breakfast on the future of "green" energy in Ukraine.

“Since our last Sivash wind farm project, we have attracted European capital at 7%. In the project of WPP "Sofia" the cost of capital has already reached more than 10%. This increase has occurred over the past 2 years. This is due to the unpredictability of the government's actions in the energy sector, "said Magnus Johansson.
