Centrenergo plans to provide 1000 MW per hour as base load permanent supply during national heating season

The PJSC Centrenergo plans during the 2021-2022 national heating season to constantly put up for sale at auctions on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX) 300 MW-600 MW of base load electricity without the possibility of adjusting the volume, and in general the company plans to work at a capacity of 1000 MW in the base load schedule.

This was announced on September 14, 2021, in a comment to ExPro by Volodymyr Halushchak. Member of the Board of the PJSC Centrenergo. Halushchak added that the company would be able to constantly offer 600 MW of base load for the market of bilateral contracts due to the constant production of thermal energy, which is provided by the satellite cities of TPPs.

Volodymyr Halushchak added that the company plans to continue selling its base loads under forward contracts on the UEEX, and peak loads on the day-ahead and intraday electricity markets.

According to him, the PJSC Centrenergo plans to reduce the number of possible restrictions for its customers from the current level of 50% to 20% during the 2021-2022 national heating season, and in case of selling a small amount - to remove the restrictions altogether. It is currently the only generating company stating ir would not apply restrictions.
