3 more wells are planned to be drilled at the Strilkove gas field
Chornomornaftogaz (part of the Naftogaz Group) is considering drilling 3 more wells at the Strilkove gas field (shelf of the Sea of Azov), within the Arabatska Strilka in the Kherson region. This was announced by General Director of Chornomornaftogaz Svitlana Nezhnova.
As reported in the press service of Naftogaz, in August of this year, a well #87 at the Strilkove field with a directional (almost horizontal) trajectory was successfully drilled; its deviation angle is 81 degrees with a 539m reach towards the sea and a depth of up to 870m.
The initial flow rate of the well was 15 thousand cubic meters per day, which is a very good result, taking into account the insignificant depth, design features and depletion of the field. Drilling operations were completed 29 days ahead of schedule; they were carried out by the branch of Ukrgasvydobuvannya – Ukrburgaz Drilling Division using a rig with a load capacity of 225t.
The well has been drilled and is being operated in a test mode; the working flow rate of the well is expected to reach 20 thousand cubic meters per day. But it is planned to commission it by the commencement of the heating season to provide the population of Henichesk and Henichesk district with gas.
Commissioning of the well will contribute to increasing the energy independence of Henichesk and Henichesk district, which are not connected to the main gas transportation system of Ukraine.
She noted that the recoverable reserves at the Strilkove field amount to about 900 million cubic meters, and the production of these residual reserves is planned through the completion of well #87, and further drilling of new ones, in accordance with the updated field development project.
